There is more research now than ever before about this group of people and their needs\, and yet there is much that is not yet known about them. We\, as therapists\, will encounter people who identify themselves as belonging to some part or parts of the queer communities\, and so we need to educate ourselves on how best to serve them. I also run workshops regarding LGBTQ2S+ identities and concerns. I am a member of the Calgary AHS Sexual Orientation Identity and Expression Provincial Advisory Council and the Calgary Police Service Gender and Sexual Diversity Advisory Board. I have memberships in the College of Alberta Psychologists\, the Canadian Psychologists Association\, the Alberta Clinical Hypnosis Society and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. I have co-authored the chapters “Counselling Lesbians” in “Culturally-Infused Counselling: Celebrating the Canadian Mosaic” (2005) and “Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual\, Transgender and Intersex Individuals” in “Canadian Counselling Psychology in the 21st Century” (2015). \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Outline of the material covered \n \n \n \n Definition of the 2SLGBTQ+ acronym and who is included in it.
