DESCRIPTION:As societies become increasingly diverse\, professionals and front-line staff must develop cultural compassion and humility in supporting older adults from ethnocultural backgrounds. This webinar\, Aging Across Cultures: Understanding Ethno-Diversity in Older Adult Care\, explores how cultural beliefs shape aging\, mental health\, family dynamics\, and well-being. Participants will gain insights into culturally responsive psychological care\, common barriers to accessing services\, and strategies to foster meaningful\, strength-based engagement with older adults and their families. Dr. Joudi developed a program focusing on ethnocultural older adult mistreatment and abuse for the province of Alberta and is currently working at Carya as Project Manager for The Way In Network (TWIN) which is a collaboration of Calgary-based agencies that are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and access to services and support for vulnerable older adults living in the community and their families. Dr. Joudi is also a current board member of the Alberta Association on Gerontology (AAG) and is an advisor for Alberta’s Ministry of Seniors\, Community\, and Social Services. 								\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					Members Only Discounts				\n				\n				\n						\n									Are you a member with the PAA? This workshop is offered for three (3) hours of CE Credit. Full attendance at the workshop is required to receive Continuing Education Credits. Partial credit will not be awarded\, and late arrivals or early departure will preclude awarding of Continuing Education Credits. PAA maintains responsibility for the program. 								\n				\n				\n						\n					Cancellation and Refunds				\n				\n				\n						\n									Cancellation and refunds may be applied for by email or phone call to the PAA Continuing Professional Development Officer.  Cancellations received fourteen (14) days prior to the Continuing Professional Development activity will receive a full refund of the registration fee\, less a $35.00 + GST processing fee. Cancellations received thirteen (13) days or less prior to the Continuing Professional Development activity will be exempt from receiving a refund. Partial refunds will not be awarded.
